We’re delighted to have helped Supermarket Income REIT with shareholder documentation for its £100m equity fundraising, comprising an institutional placing, a South African placing for qualifying investors and a UK retail offer.
The proceeds will help fund a pipeline of grocery property acquisitions alongside existing debt facilities, as the company continues to expand its portfolio while targeting a loan-to-value ratio below 45 percent.
Fundraising & deal details:
- Gross proceeds: £100m via c.120m new shares
- Issue price: 83p per share
- Target pipeline value: £216 million total for a nine-asset grocery portfolio
- Initial portfolio acquisition: agreement to buy three supermarkets (Sainsbury's in Manchester, Tesco in Edinburgh, and Tesco in Halifax) for £118m
- Remaining pipeline: Six additional UK grocery assets expected to complete for £98m.
Our thanks to our wonderful clients at Macfarlanes, Goldman Sachs, Peel Hunt and Stifel.
